Terms
Terms of service
Understand the rules for using MergeWise, how we handle integrations, and what to expect for reliability and billing.
Service
What you get from MergeWise
Clear commitments around functionality, evolution, and availability.
What we provide
MergeWise connects Asana tasks with GitHub pull requests to deliver AI-assisted review summaries, inline comments, and task updates.
Service evolution
Features may change as we improve reliability, coverage, and integrations. We will communicate material changes that affect usage.
Fair availability
We aim for consistent uptime and will prioritize restoring service during incidents. Trials and paid plans may carry limits to protect stability.
Support and communications
We share incident updates, maintenance windows, and major changes through in-product notices or email to affected admins.
Transparency
We will state when a feature is in beta, experimental, or carries known limitations so you can decide how to use it.
Accounts
Your responsibilities
Expectations for admins and users who connect Asana and GitHub.
Workspace ownership
Admins control workspace settings, integrations, and billing. You are responsible for who you invite and the permissions granted to connectors.
Credential security
Keep login credentials, tokens, and installation secrets confidential. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
Data accuracy
Ensure repository links, task references, and configuration details are accurate so automations run against the correct projects.
Permitted users
Only authorize users who comply with your organization policies and applicable laws. Remove access when roles change.
Cooperation
Respond to security, abuse, and compliance inquiries so we can investigate issues quickly and protect your workspace.
Acceptable use
How to use MergeWise responsibly
Guidelines that keep the service stable and compliant for everyone.
• Do not attempt to probe, overload, or disrupt MergeWise infrastructure.
• Avoid using the service to process unlawful, infringing, or malicious content.
• Respect third-party terms when connecting Asana, GitHub, or other integrations.
• Use AI-generated output responsibly and review suggestions before applying changes.
• Do not misrepresent MergeWise output as human review without appropriate disclosure.
• Report vulnerabilities responsibly and avoid exploiting potential weaknesses.
Billing
Subscriptions and payments
How plans, renewals, and cancellations work.
Plans and limits
Usage-based limits (watched projects, review volume, diff sizes) apply by plan. Trials are time-bound and may restrict certain publishing actions.
Charges and renewals
Paid subscriptions renew per the selected cadence. You are responsible for applicable taxes and ensuring payment methods remain current.
Downgrades and cancellation
Changes take effect on the next billing interval unless specified otherwise. We may limit or disable features if invoices fail or quotas are exceeded.
Invoices and disputes
Billing questions should be raised within 30 days of an invoice. We will review good-faith disputes and clarify usage calculations.
Refunds
Unless required by law, refunds are not guaranteed. We may consider pro-rated refunds for verified service unavailability.
Data
Data handling and retention
How long we keep information and how to request deletion.
Data retention
We retain repository diffs, review artifacts, and task sync history only as long as needed to provide the service or meet legal obligations.
Deletion requests
Admins may request deletion of workspace data where permitted. Some records (e.g., billing) may be retained as required by law.
Backups
Content may persist in encrypted backups for a limited time before being purged according to our retention schedule.
AI
AI usage and expectations
Understand how AI assists reviews and how to evaluate outputs.
AI assistance
MergeWise uses AI models to summarize diffs, recommend changes, and suggest comments. Outputs should be reviewed by humans before deployment.
Context limits
Model responses depend on provided context (diffs, task descriptions). Ensure inputs exclude sensitive data that should not be processed.
Quality expectations
AI outputs may contain inaccuracies. You remain responsible for validating code changes and complying with repository and task policies.
Security
Compliance and safeguards
How we protect data and what we need from you.
Privacy and data handling
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how it is used. Integrations exchange only the data required to deliver reviews and sync status.
Security posture
We secure tokens, restrict access, and monitor for anomalous activity. You agree to configure integrations with least privilege where possible.
Customer cooperation
You will assist with security investigations or compliance inquiries that involve your workspace, subject to applicable law.
Third-party providers
We rely on infrastructure and LLM vendors to deliver the service. We expect those providers to meet comparable security standards.
Notification of incidents
We will notify impacted admins of confirmed security incidents that materially affect your data, following applicable laws.
Rights
Intellectual property
Ownership expectations and how we use feedback.
Ownership
MergeWise and its licensors retain all rights to the service. You own your content, code, and workspace configuration.
Feedback
We may use suggestions to improve the product without obligation, but will not claim ownership of your repositories or tasks.
License to operate
You grant MergeWise the permissions needed to process repository diffs, task metadata, and review outputs for your authorized users.
Training data
We do not train foundation models on your private repository data. We may use aggregated, de-identified signals to improve service quality.
Limits
Disclaimers and liability
Important notices about service changes and legal boundaries.
Service changes
We may modify or discontinue features with notice where practical. Critical changes that affect processing will be communicated in advance when possible.
No warranties
MergeWise is provided on an “as is” basis. We do not guarantee error-free output, uninterrupted uptime, or specific performance results.
Liability limits
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the fees paid for the service in the preceding three months.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state where MergeWise is incorporated, unless a different jurisdiction is required by local law.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms or applicable laws. You may terminate by canceling subscriptions and ceasing use.
